Samsonite Tote-a-tons

D is all packed up to head to school by plane (with one connection) and has her 6 tote-a-tons stuffed and now worried they could break open and her stuff go everywhere.

She’s wanting to repack everything into space bags and put those back into the duffles. This is the 11th hour and frankly, I don’t want to help with this task. Has anyone had a bad experience with Samsonite’s duffles? They got good reviews online.

Thanks!

Any chance you could take some stuff out and ship it to her UPS? May take some stress off of both of you, and with UPS it would get to her in three or four days.

My son took 2 with him on the recommendations here. I love how small they collapse down to! They were fine – no problems. We also had a connection so the bags were loaded and unloaded twice. Is she certain she needs all that stuff? My son’s room was a small triple, and I don’t think he could have fit 6 bags worth into it without taking it over. In fact, I don’t know where he would have kept even one more bag worth of stuff, had he brought it. (We shipped two small boxes ahead, and also mailordered a pillow and sheets that came in two more small boxes.)

MMom-
First thing comes to mind is duct tape and buckled luggage straps
or throw them in a box insuring the box weighs under your airlines weight limit/box.
