Okay, so I have 2 choices, a black samsonite which is made out of some polyester dolimer or semething like that (while the calvin klein has ballistic nylon). 360 wheels, nice interior. The only thing is that the handle is a bit loose (it seems like), the wheels dont seem as durable (as the calvin klein)…on the other hand, the Calvin Klein is brown, has an ABS frame, with ballistic nylon (which a really good material), good wheels (but no 360 rotation), also the interior does not have as may pockets as the Samsonite which seems to have a better frame…this is going to be my carry-on luggage for prep school. Which brand is used more often in terms of a HADES school? Respond ASAP!!!

What does a “HADES school” (as opposed, presumably, to any other class of school) have to do with your choice of luggage? Are you concerned about perception? I’ve seen kids moving in with designer luggage and others with duffel bags. I doubt any of them found that their choice of travel gear affected their life at school. How shallow would one have to be to judge classmates based on their luggage? Just buy the one that best meets your needs or, in case of a tie, the one you like best.

Too superficial…

No, like ballistic nylon vs. polyester. Or steel frame vs. ABS honeycomb frame. Strong handle vs. slightly shaky, strong wheels vs. 360 rotation, 2 pockets interior vs. none… I’m trying to ask which is more often used at prep school to learn from experience which would be more durable in the long run.

If you havent bought your luggage by now your running a little late arent you? I personally would buy the cheapest one, but im a guy so idk.

Well I already have all the boxes shipped and stuff…just getting the carry-on luggage.

I would care more about which is better suited to my TRAVEL needs than how many other prepsters at HADES prefer Samsonite over Calvin Klein! Your grand entrance with your wheelie is the least of your concerns when travelling. It’s the GETTING there that’s important!

360 wheels are great. Which one fits your laptop/sandwich/drink/sweater or jacket best? Which one has easy to access compartments that you can reach when the case is under the seat?

I can’t believe you need to consult College Confidential for advice on carry-on bags… And you’re going to ANDOVER? Like… Phillips Academy Andover? Well. I look forward to seeing you on Campus…

I would go for the lightest bag with spinner wheels and the best handle. If it is the look you are after then either get Louis Vuitton or it doesn’t matter.

360 wheels all the way… but since youre concerned lots of kids will have tumi

It wasn’t the ‘best brand name’ fact, it was more of a ‘former experience thing’… durability/travel-ease wise

You know what nevermind. I DELETE THE WHOLE THREAD. NO MORE RESPONSES PLEASE. :)…and no, I’m not going to Andover…my cousin is.
