My niece has a CSU weighed GPA of 4.0. Her intended major is Journalism with an emphasis in Media Studies. She took all A-G courses and 4 AP classes. She took 4 years of Broadcasting to prepare for the major with all As. What are her chances to be admitted? She is a San Diego California resident, but CSUSM is her âhomeâ college. However, she did not apply there.
What majors?
My daughterâBiology. Her friendâInterior Design.

Anyone can apply to Webers Honors. Have your student apply, you donât have to accept. My D did and loves her Webers classes.
Do you happen to know of Weber applications are reviewed contemporaneously with SDSU applications or only after admission?D24 did not receive an early admit or Weber invitation. We know she can still apply to Weber but are basically wondering whether the Weber app has any bearing on the admissions decision. Thanks!
FYI stats
She is OOS (Arizona)
CSU Capped/weighted 4.0 (I think)
HS GPA weighted 4.4/UW 3.7
IB Full Diploma candidate
Strong writer/volunteer; Weber essay could show strengths beyond the numbers
A-G, I am a bit confused on counting these, but she had 4 years each of math (through HL AA), english, history, spanish, film/visual arts; 3 science (+1 psych); robotics plus Theory of Knowledge (philosophy) and govt/econ electives. All but 2 semesters of chemistry, govt/econ, robotics & film classes were IB or AP.
Honors college application review is separate from admissions. Honors college decisions are posted in March.
Thank you so much! Coincidentally, my daughter just texted me that she found her early acceptance to pre-psychology and Weber honors invitation lost in an email folder.
So excited!!! We never wouldâve looked again without all your helpful advice on here and appreciate your help!
Congratulations to her.
I was just accepted, out of state, 3.55 CSU gpa w/ work and volunteer experience.
SDSU second choice
Congrats. It does seem like another batch or responses were released today.
Whatâs your major?
