San diego state university- sdsu class of 2022 admitted students!

I just got into SDSU nursing from the waitlist and I’m really scared right now because they said that we have to maintain our overall GPA but I got two Bs in my second semester of senior year transcript! that lowers my total GPA. Do you think I will possibly get rescinded?

@co2018nur I know that nursing is competitive, but anything above C- wouldn’t get you rescinded. I got accepted to SDSU( not nursing) with like 5 C’s and one D due to tough school. Don’t worry at all.

Hi co2018nur- Congrats on getting into the nursing program. Very very good!! When you said you got in from the waitlist, does that mean you were originally rejected into their nursing program, but SDSU told you you’d be put on a waitlist for possible further evaluation? My D will be applying for the nursing program this year. Can I ask if you’re local? That seems to help in getting into the program.?
My daughter has a 4.3 academic GPA, AP Bio, World History and Eng. Student body Pres and some other really good leadership roles. But, we don’t live near San Diego. 1350 SAT, 30 ACT.

@BlackStallion - I am pretty sure the nursing waitlist functions like that of any other major at SDSU. Waitlisted means that you have an opportunity to get into the program if a person initially offered a spot rejects it. As for whether being local has an influence, I believe it does. SDSU is a pretty big commuter school as well so if two applicants have the same stats, but one is local and the other is not, they will choose the applicant that is local (from what I recall from over a year ago). Leadership and extracurriculars are not factored into SDSU admissions - only CSU GPA and test scores matter. I recommend you use https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/eligibility-index to calculate your daughter’s EI (and you can also calculate her CSU GPA with the help of a transcript).

Hope this helps!

When SDSU receives your community college and AP scores- does it show up on college transcript once they received it or how will u know that they going to give u credit? What about placement tests after they received ur score? Where can I check that?

@CaliUSA7: All this information would be on your SDSU portal under Unofficial transcript. Also during orientation, you will be given a personalized registration/class sheet which shows the credit given for AP/CC courses and suggested/required courses you need to take for your first 2 semester Freshman year.

@gumbymom Placement tests scores show up on ur unofficial transcript??

@CaliUSA7: AP test scores will show up on your unofficial transcript once they have been reviewed.
Placement tests specific for SDSU such as Chemistry/Math will not.

would you recommend buying textbooks now, or waiting for the first day of class

@cswave I would recommend waiting till the first day because teachers change textbooks sometimes

I just received the move in guide and I am ZuraC with a check in time of 2pm-4pm. Do the other 2 guys in my dormroom have the same move-in time or does each roommate have a different move in time? I was hoping to get the bottom bunk but that won’t happen if I have roommates moving in earlier than me. Also does anyone know where I can find an internal map of Zura? I was hoping to see where my room was.

@cocoonutty When I moved in last year, my roommate and I had the same move in time, so I imagine it will be the same. If you really want the bottom bunk, I would let them know in advance in a relaxed, easy-going way (assuming you’re in contact with them). Or just let them know on the day of.

As for an internal map, what might be helpful are some youtube videos of people touring Zura. The floors all tend to look identical, so if you know your room number, you could compare it to the ones shown in the video.

My D is in Zura and the other 2 roomies have the same move in time. They have been communicating already and have already agreed upon their assignment of beds, dressers and desks. My D got the last pick on beds but the first on desk/dresser.
