Hi, I am currently a high school senior at a San Diego City High School and was wondering whether the majority of San Diego residents attending UCSD live in the dorms or at home. All of my friends that are going to UCSD are staying at home but my dad wants me to live at the dorm (Revelle College). Does anyone have any personal experience with this situation? Any official stats and figures on the percentage of San Diego residents staying at home but attending UCSD would be nice.

If you are going to college then experience the college life…live in a dorm and make new friends are starters…

I just went to the UCSD reception today in LA and this guy took 9 years to get his BA. Reason? He wasn’t involved enough in campus life…

If your parents want you to live in the dorm, then by all means, go for it. My mom wants me to live at home to save money if I go to UCSD. Take advantage of any opportunity to have an undergraduate dorm life. UCSD doesn’t have as strong a campus life, so being in dorms can be very important for your social life (as far as UCSD goes).
