My D is moving to SF for her first job after graduation. We were shocked at the housing chaos in the city that seemed much more expensive and scarce than NYC. Since we needed to find a place relatively quickly, we found a short term furnished apartment in a safe neighborhood for a six month period. Once she is living there, anyone have suggestions how to find a safe studio apartment in six months from now?

DD moved to SF 4 years ago. She has lived in 2 house shares that she found on Craig’s list.
By the time your daughter’s lease ends, she will have made some friends and she will have better idea what areas she prefers.

^^Same. When my son was in SF for an internship, he found a room in a USF professor’s house on Craigslist. Then when he moved back after graduation he found his first roommate (who already had an apartment lease) on Craigslist. By the time the year’s lease was up, he had decided to move and room with someone from work. And now, he’s living with his GF (who he also met online, but that’s another story
) in yet another rent. I agree that your daughter will likely meet folks and find a roommate in time.
