My son has been pursuing leads on Craigslist, Facebook etc. in search of a furnished sublet from June through August in San Francisco. He wants to live alone, so that greatly limits apartment availability. Apartment hunting has become a frustrating full time job so I thought I’d ask the CC experts for advice. He has had his checkbook ready and been willing to commit (a strategy others have advised) only to be told there are other offers outstanding. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as time is running short. I have not been able to find any realtors who would handle this sort of short term sublease. Thanks!
Yes, no way could my son find such a rental. He went with a corporation, who,rents by the month
. . Some ok, some bad, some good roommates.
BOokworm, would you mind sharing the name of the corporation he used. The realtors my son contacted don’t deal with short term furnished subleases? THanks
@RonnieMom is he a student?
Yes. He has a summer internship in Silicon Valley but really wants to live in SF for the summer.
I just found housing for my daughter in Oakland. There are two good options for you. Do a search on facebook for Housing: 2016 Bay Area Summer Interns, there are a ton of listings. Most of the listings are in Berkeley, but there are some in San Fran/nearby areas.
Also , check http://www.sfhousingservices.com/#!student-housing/cvpm, this tends to be more pricey, but they have single options if you want to spend more.
Thank you so much party of 5! I will check out these sites immediately.
