San Francisco To Become Gotham City For 5-Year-Old

This is still unfolding - around 11,000 people have signed on to make a 5-year-old’s dream of being Batman come true. The boy is a leukemia survivor currently in remission. What a great story :)

I have been sitting at my computer quietly crying for the last hour or so every time I see a picture or tweet. I am amazed at the outpouring of love and support for this little boy.

Where on earth did all these onions come from…

This is really beautiful.

I too have been following this all day - and crying - laughing and smiling and crying!

That little guy is going to sleep well tonight.

Thanks San Fran for making my day.

You can follow his day on twitter with many pics @SFwish.

the local abc affiliate is having live coverage online. Helicopters covering BatKid’s arrival at City Hall…about 15,000 people there…

I’m home today and have been following the updates on CNN … So wonderful!

Agree with abasket: Thank you San Francisco! You rock!!

Absolutely rates as one of my favorite “breaking news” stories of all time.

Restores my faith in us all to be able to just do something wonderful: no strings, no griping, no red tape, no politics, no problems, just an entire city giving a day of pure joy to a little guy.

Wham! Bam! Zap! Pow!

Sweet!!!

Newspaper had printed special edition Friday of “Gotham City Chronicles”. They are re-printing tomorrow, as they were quickly snatched up today. Lots of demand.

Also noted that the Make A Wish website crashed due to traffic today – hope that is a positive for them!

Awesome story…
