I can’t decide between these three. Did my housing very early, so should get my first choice on campus (San Jac). But, I’m still considering living in Hardin/SRD just to meet a lot of girls and have a very comfortable place to stay. What are the rules at Hardin & SRD like as far as curfew, visitors, boys, etc?

I’m looking at SRD as well, and I was also wondering about the rules? And if the amenities and quality of rooms/meals make the rules worth it?

and i tried to look for SRDs but i cant find any :(…but im having the same dilemna

I currently live at SRD! I really love it. The food is good except there’s no dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. Most people go out with their friends to eat which is fun, or you can always order in. The rules that I can think of are no alcohol in the rooms, no boys upstairs between 10 pm and 10 am, and most wings have quiet hours (ours are 12 am to 9 am). None of those are strictly enforced, though. At Hardin they will search your room to see if you have alcohol or anything illegal. I would say about 95% of girls at Hardin are in a sorority, and about 70% here. If that bothers you, I would say live at San Jac. I have friends that live there and really love it. I’d say Hardin is definitely stricter than Scottish Rite. I’m not sure about San Jac. Anyways, it’s really about what you want! If you’re rushing I would say definitely live at Hardin or SRD because most of your pledge sisters will live there and that is basically who your friends are freshman year.

Really though, you can’t go wrong!

you did your housing really early…does that mean you paid the $50 dollars early?

just wanted to know if that $50 reserved a choice for you or if you have to pay the $200 deposit to reserve a choice

After you are admitted and pay the $200 enrollment deposit, you will be offered a housing contract. At that time you may choose the hall you want to live in.

I am also trying to decide between SRD and Hardin House. I have family members that have lived in both, and have already turned in my application for both dormitories. I am definitely planning on rushing in the fall and want to be surrounded by other girls in my sorority. I have heard that sometimes living in Hardin is beneficial towards getting into a top sorority. My boyfriend will be a sophomore and is a member of FIJI, so it would be nice to be close to his house. I have heard that SRD is much nicer, but I am hesitant seeing as all of my friends from Camp Longhorn and Dallas have always lived in Hardin. I also think that Hardin has a great location because it is close to the drag and university towers. I am not sure which to choose, but I know that contracts need to be returned soon!
