What does Provisional Admit Self-Report mean for status?
From the SJSU website:
You have been conditionally admitted (Frosh) based on the self-reported information that you provided in your application. Conditional admission is subject to final verification of final transcripts of the following:
- Minimum impaction threshold required for your major
- College Preparatory subjects
You must also complete all of the Terms and Conditions of your admission by meeting the intent to enroll deadline, submitting documents and meeting final admission and impaction requirements.
You will continue to see incomplete To Do List items on your Student Center page as long as you owe final documents to complete your admission process. Please check your To Do List items on MySJSU for requests for a transcript from your high school to verify your eligibility for admission. Once this information is verified, SJSU will change your status to Clear Admit. [AAF/AAFC]

Does this mean that sjsu has finished reviewing all applications? Because my status is still: application in-progress
You should be able to figure out whether you will be admitted from the linked pages.
But you may also want to contact them directly to find out if something is missing from your application that is holding up delivery of a decision.
So if my impaction score is above the minimum score listed, is that a 100% guarantee that I will get in my major?
That what it is supposed to mean. But contact them directly.
For 2024 decisions, SJSU started posting them on February 7 but still posting decisions through late February. Definitely could not hurt to contact them and find out your status.

My son received an email from SJSU stating he has been admitted for Fall 2025. However, the email does not specify his major (he applied to Computer Science). I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help enlighten me about this.
if you login you should see something like below, with the major mentioned.
