Santa Clara SES requirements?

I am applying to the SES program at SCU this summer and I was just wondering how hard it was to get in and if it is worth the time. I’ve heard that this is a good program, especially since it’s free.

I am an Asian girl in my sophomore year at Mission San Jose High School and I have straight A’s this year (taking Honors Algebra 2/Trig, Honors Chemistry, Honors English). Last year while taking Honors Geometry, I had a solid A first semester but a B second semester; however in all my other classes, I received As throughout the year. I took the PSAT during the winter and got a 200 on it and I got a 750 on the SAT2 Bio. My teacher recommendation for this program should be pretty good. Do you think I’ll be able to get in?

Thanks!

You seem qualified. Note that the only true requirement for getting in is applying; if you don’t apply, you definitely won’t get accepted.

well, I applied last year as a sophomore with straight a’s except for a b in honors chem first semester, USABO semifinalist freshman year, 770 SAT bio, PSAT 210 and I was rejected… so idk.

I’m applying for SES this year too! Based on the website, it seems like a good program; plus, like you said, it’s free (: I think there might be a lot of competition since it’s free. Also cyberchondriac, I think the website said preference was given to juniors over sophomores, so perhaps you could apply again this year?
Good luck to all (:
