Santa Clara University CAAP Accounting Program?

This is a year long post graduate program that fulfills units for accounting classes to sit for the CPA exam for college graduates. I’m looking into this, can anyone comment on the rigor of this program and the prospects of breaking into accounting in California with this?

A co-worker of mine majored in Business Admin - Marketing from San Jose State University, couldn’t really find work they were comfortable with, and so went into this program. They did say it was tough. All day and every day accounting classes (even Saturdays sometimes) to be able to get all the classes through in 1 year. They explained it like the program was like having a full-time job - you’d be in classes for a full day and then still need to do some studying outside of class. However, it definitely prepares students for the accounting industry as if they were an accounting major in undergrad. They found a job right away in the accounting field once the program was completed.

Big 4 or regional firm?

thought year long would be less intensive, I’m looking at the summer and they jampack more into that

Uh, neither. They went into a government accounting and tax position, not a firm.

The summer should be expected to be very busy.
