Santa Clara vs Seattle U

Hi,
I am interested in finance and looking at Seattle U and Santa Clara. I like the idea of a small private school, and am not worried about costs right now. Santa Clara is ranked much higher, but is there really much of a difference? I live in Seattle.

My best guess is that there is not much difference in the quality of the finance major at these two schools. But, it may depend upon any special interest that you have in the area of finance & business.

The good news is that both are located in or near thriving job markets.

The weather will be a whole lot different.

Is San Francisco Bay area weather significantly different than that of Seattle ?

Mark Twain: “The coldest winter I ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco.”

According to historical weather charts, it seems that Seattle highs & lows are just a few degrees lower than for Santa Clara.

Annual rainfall Santa Clara 15”
Annual rainfall Seattle 38”
Annual snow Santa Clara 0”
Annual snow Seattle 5”
Sunny days per year Santa Clara 261
Sunny days per year Seattle 152
Rainy days per year Santa Clara 63
Rainy days per year Seattle 155
…it’s definitely wetter in Seattle and sunnier in Santa Clara, even if temperatures are not wildly different (I didn’t check the temperature claim above)

Santa Clara is also not San Francisco. Climates vary widely across the Bay Area.

Santa Clara
Jan average low 42
July average high 80

Seattle
Jan average low 37
July average high 76

Just north of Santa Clara, today’s high was 71. Seattle’s high today was 48.
