Got in with 42k presidential scholarship which brings total down to 39k. They don’t seem to have processed my financial aid forms yet, so could more aid be coming? I believe the NPC was estimating COA as 45k for me, so unsure if I’ll get any more aid. I got the full tuition Fordham scholarship from Fordham and was going to try to use that to negotiate for more aid with SLC?
Anyone have advice on negotiating aid using other college offers? I really like the school more than Fordham but will end up attending Fordham if I don’t receive more aid due to cost.
Congratulations!
Was your merit award in your acceptance letter? C24 was accepted, but no mention of any kind of scholarship.
it was not in the decision letter, you have to scroll down to the bottom and press on a separate document that was called scholarship information or something like that
Daughter accepted :-). I don’t recall seeing aid details, I’ll look for that separate link.
My daughter got into Sarah Lawrence with a decent financial aid package. We like a lot of things about the school but I keep seeing so many negative comments on Reddit, etc. is this just a person/people with an axe to grind or real red flags? Does anyone have a positive experience that they can share? Job opportunities, after graduation, etc?
The Fiske Guide offers positive reviews (although the book does caution non-high income students).
I can’t speak of recent alums, but one of the most successful women I know is a SL grad. President of a major film company. I just looked at her LinkedIn and seems she got into the industry straight out of SL. Became a VP of Acquisition at a different film company within 4 years of graduating.
This is great to hear. Thank for your feedback.
Has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet? I still haven’t heard back from them.
Don’t recommend this school for ANY student, especially young men. Aside from a totally unstructured, all over the place curriculum, the school is deliberately 80% women and the atmosphere is like a small all girls boarding school. They will try and get boys to attend by giving large scholarships and discounts. The culture is gossipy, rumors, and cliques. Ask around before you make the decision to send your son here. It may be the worst decision you ever help him make for his mental health.
