consciousness, since you did better on the ACT than on the SAT, retake the former. The UCs do not give preference to either test. However, since 2 SAT II’s are required for the UCs, they will see your SAT score (UCs ask that you submit all scores).

I say if you have a choice, definitely go with your ACT. An ACT of 30 actually enters into the 2000 threshold of SAT scores, so it would look much better than an 1800 SAT score.

And to add on to forblueskies, some privates like Stanford also require you send all your scores.

We had heard that ALL the scores on your SAT history are sent to the colleges, that you cannot send just the SAT Subject Tests alone.

My sister wants to send her ACT score plus her two SAT Subject Tests to the UC’s. So she called The College Board to seeif this was possible and they assured her that the UC’s would receive only the test scores that she chose. My sister repeated that she wanted to send only the SAT Subject Tests and not the SAT Reasoning and they said that they would only send the boxes she checked. She confirmed it with her guidance counselor who said that yes, you can chose to send only the SAT Subject Tests (plus her ACT).

Has anyone NOT been able to send the SAT Subject Tests only?

iloveparis, because you cannot take the SAT and the SAT Subject Test on the same day, you are to able choose whether to send either score. You can take either the SAT Reasoning OR up to three Subject Tests on one testing date.

Score choice works by selecting which test date you would like to be reported to the college of your choice. All tests taken on that test date and their scores will be sent. The college would not receive your sister’s SAT score because it was not taken on the same day as the SAT Subject Tests were.
