SAT 2's on dec4

WHOSE NOT PREPARED!??

MEEEE.

I am taking the world history one…i have barely looked at my prep book.

so scared.

any people in the same…boat?

I am taking writing, im kind of nervous but its hard to really study for it

yeah :frowning: this sucks

i’m taking world history too… there is so much to cover so little time:(

How many are taking it as standby? I am for MATH IIC… GAHHH! So nervous… Better be room. I will end my testing career in high school with a bang! I will kick ETS’s ass with an 800! and then fork over $60 bucks: $35 for standby, $17 for subject test in general, and $8 for each subject. Down with CB. Down with CB. Down with CB. Their selfish and Marxist policies are evil. Who will join me in the Brotherhood as we topple CB?! VIVA LA REVOLUCION! However, you must answer these questions first:

1) Are you willing to give your lives?
2) You are prepared to commit murder?
3) To commit acts of sabotage which may cause the death of hundred of innocent people?
4) To betray your country to foreign powers?
5) You are prepared to cheat, to forge, to blackmail, to corrupt the minds of children, to distribute habit-forming drugs, to encourage prostitution, to disseminate venereal diseases - to do anything which is likely to cause demoralization and weaken the power of College Board?
6) If, for example, it would somehow serve our interests to throw sulphuric acid in a child’s face - are ou prepared to do that?
7) Finally, are you prepared to retake a 1590 so that you can infiltrate the inner workings behind the evil minds of CB Party members?

Choose wisely.

cb sucks.

i wish we could bring a note card…

Serin and ronos, I am also taking World History and I am starting to stress out about it. I’ve always thought I was good in history…until I looked at a diagnostic test:) Well, do you know what type of questions are tested most often (for example, European history, middle ages)? How close are Kaplan and Barron’s to the real thing?

i wish i knew

or rather i wish someone would freakin tell us
its not like NO ONE has taken this test before on this bored…

how greedy.hmmph.

vessey: same here. I though I was good at history, but the Q’s are way hard… I think the barrons tends to overprepare you for all the tests, and kaplan is probably the closest thing. I think European History with specks of the general stuff like buddhism etc. will do the trick. Good luck!!!

If there is anyone that took the WH test tell us whats it like!!!

the world history test is as follows–straight from the booklet–
25% global or comparative
25% europe
10% africa, americas, SW asia, S and SE asia

or by periods…

pre-history to 500 C.E. 25%
500-1500 CE 20%
1500 to 1900 CE 25%
Post-1900 CE 20%
Cross-chronological 10%

Basically, European history cannot hurt you. If you have to cram, cram Europe from the dark ages to WWI and pre-history stuff. But then again, 25% of the test is comparative. I took the test after I took AP World and got an 800, but I had an AWESOME teacher, really, he owned history. Feel free to ask any more questions.

Some tips for the WH SAT II:

-Know all of the cultures/time periods at least generally, if not specifically. As dwintz said, there’s a lot of comparative questions, so even just knowing some basic things about all areas of the world will help.
-Make smart guesses. There will be a lot of questions you won’t know (at least for me there were), so good guesses will help a lot.
-Europe is a lot of the test, because some of the out-of-Europe questions will still relate to imperialism and other countries’ interactions with Europe. Cramming Europe and more specifically Exploration/Imperialism will help.
-Religions. Know them.
-And lastly, I guarantee this question will show up:
The two main items of the Trans-Saharan trade were _____ and _____.
(that showed up on every WH test I took, real or practice, SAT II or AP)

Hope this helps.

Thanks!! Is it salt adn gold right? this info is very helpful!! Do you know any other Q’s that CB might recycle? What Q’s were hard for you? Thanks for the help.

Yeah, salt and gold is right.

I can’t think of any other questions at the moment, but here’s some Q’s from CB: <a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;
and some more questions (click the WH link)…

And to answer some of the other people on this thread, the Kaplan’s tests were harder than the actual test. I got mid-600’s on their practice tests, and then a 730 on the actual one last June. Buy the Real SAT II’s book- their WH test was really close to the one I took (got a 720 on that the week before the test).

lol ■■■
how did u know it was salt and gold

i am so screwed…

Thanks for all the inputs,

I do hope that Kaplan is harder than the real thing, because I don’t score quite well on Kaplan’s tests. Btw, do you know if there are any free online tests I can do?

all i could find were like the 10 q’s on cb

I am so not prepared…
Especially for the physics… I’m sitting here trying to study the material myself, since my school offers the ****test physics ever.

I’m studying for WH right now, good luck guys! There is SO much info, I hope I can remember enough of it =)

I’m taking spanish, writing, and us history… hopefully ill break 600 on all…

Writing (retake), Latin, and Spanish. I’m gonna have to study like hail, I need 700+ scores on Latin and Writing (and Spanish too, if possible).
