Yes, DD20’s scores are up. Very similar to PSAT10. Seems to be little to complain about.
My D received her score and is pleased as she improved a bit and met her goal.
SAT says if you take the PSAT your scores go up by 60 points on the SAT. If you study with Khan for 20 hrs they claim it goes up 115 points (this is from memory -there was also one for a 90 pt increase- I’ll have to check it).
Found the “Your score is pending message”. Hope it doesn’t take a week!
My D and nephew both have “Your score is pending”. This score determines whether we sign up for the October test which deadline is today. I’m sure we are not the only ones. Wonder if they will waive late fees due to the delay?
@LeahCWoo There is still a good chance they will get their scores today. It is typical for scores to be released in batches and indeed the CB website notes that scores will be released throughout the day.
As an FYI, the CB said that the scores for the non-essays are released on 9/7. They do not claim that they will be available at 5 a.m. or 7 a.m. or any specific time.
I am told that in the olden days before the magma cooled and while dinosaurs roamed the earth, kids had to wait by a thing called a mailbox until a person dressed in blue walked up at an unspecified date and time with an envelope containing the scores. ![]()
At any rate, posts regarding actual scores, or when they will be released, or how are my scores, etc. should be on the results thread, not here.

Great, thank you!
When will the lawsuit result come out?
The wheels of justice turn slowly.
That’s been discussed elsewhere–it’s not a “curve” it’s “equating,” and it’s not based on who took the test with you that day–the Aug '18 is the Oct '17 int’l test, so the “curve” is almost certainly the same (that’s always been the case on past recycled tests).
@marvin100 thanks- so does this mean in terms of scores, cheating by some would not effect the scores of those who did not cheat?
Correct (unless, of course, the CB cancels the exam or the scores of people with big gains).
Theoretically, the test that has a lot of cheating could impact somewhat the scores of later test-takers. When you take a test during this test year (Aug 2018 to June 2019), your score will not determined by how well you did in relation to others taking the test any time in this same test year. Instead, your scores are actually determined by comparing you to the prior test-takers from the prior testing year, with adjustments made for equating the minor differences in the difficulties of the tests. There is thus some possibility that if there were massive cheating on the Aug test (and I am not aware of CB having confirmed yet that there was), and CB continues to use it for future evaluations, that it could have some impact on scores of test-takers who take the test from Aug 2019 through June 2020.
We’ve probably all heard of the testing scandal for the August 2018 SAT. My question is: what if any influence would cheating, even if fairly widespread, have on the “curve?” It’s confusing to me because I’ve read articles that say the College Board doesn’t use curving, but rather equating.
Basically my question is: if there were fairly large numbers of students cheating (which would still be a small percentage of the overall test-taking pool), could it have a impact on the scores of other testers who did not cheat (i.e., making their scores artificially lower)?
