<p>How critically do colleges look at essay scores in SAT. Son has a 2320 SAT from sophomore yr but has an essay score of 9. He has a good ACT score (35 E, 36 r,36M,36S) but essay 8. His SAT II scores are 800math2, 800 bio,800us hist, 780Chem. Will his essay score mess up his chances for schools like ivies,stanford, chicago,nw hpme or rice.</p>
<p>Depends on college. Most higher ranks give it some consideration but how much is mostly unknown. Stanford and UChicago state they do not use the essays at all.</p>
