SAT/ACT humongo badongo dilemma help a little?

Ok, I applied to NU this past december and they just sent me a letter reminding me I needed to send in 2 sat subject tests and sat/ OR the act. So, I’ve taken ALL of these. But, i’m currently having a humongous butt dilemma over this.

Here is why: (oh, for other info, I’m a music perf. applicant)

On the SAT, the highest score i’ve gotten so far is a 1680. I retook on jan. 27th and I think I got at LEAST a 1900+, it was by far the easiest one I’ve ever taken, I’m hoping that maybe it’ll reach into the 2000 mark. Problem? Didn’t do so hot on my subject tests. I got a 510/510/540, with a huge amount of studying, so I’m not exactly sure what the heck went wrong there. No matter how well I do on this round of SAT’s, the subject tests will reflect badly on my part, will they not? (ehehehe)

Other issue is whether I should disregard the SAT scores as a whole and just send my ACT score of 25. It’s not exactly that good, but I retook and did worse, SO…What is the better option? Amazing sat scores/bad subject scores or yucky act scores? Confused, worried, and hoping to be admitted nonetheless lol. Thanks !!

why do you need to send the SAT II’s? They don’t require them, right?

Highly recommend them

^^ im pretty sure that they do

send the ACT i think… your test scores all around arent good but below 600 on three subject tests and not so great on your SAT… i think go with the ACT, but just my opinion

And because I took them and did badly, I think I ****ed myself over a little.

If I wouldn’t have taken the subjects, and maybe do well on this round of sats (find out thursday,) i could’ve had a bettah chance!

not to shoot you down, but it’s highly unlikely that your SAT score would have improved by 400 points in one sitting.

They adjust for that kind of variance, and if the test was easy for you, that means it was easy for everyone who took it, and your score is based on your performance relative to everyone else who took it in that sitting, ie: your score will most likely not improve by such a large amount of points.

That being said, I would submit the ACT in lieu of those SAT scores. Scores in the low 500s will be death to your application, in my opinion, and a 25 is not that bad.

hey i actually improved almost 200 points in my sat…so my lowest score now is a 570 and highest is a 690 :P.
