SAT/Admissions Timeline?

I’m applying to a school that has an admissions deadline of March 15. I didn’t even think of applying this year until a professor from the school encouraged me to do so, so I was caught a bit off guard.

My SAT score is approximately 30 points below the school’s middle 50%, and my HS grades are very weak ( there was a mitigating circumstance involved, however it was uncommon so I have no idea how admissions will view it); but my college record is strong.

Should I take the March 14th SAT? I asked the admissions dean and he said he “cannot guarantee” that the scores will be considered. Does this mean he was trying to say it won’t make a difference? I’m wondering whether I should still give it a shot or just forget about re-taking the SAT.

I am guessing that you are applying for Jr. transfer? If so, I would not worry about the SAT.

I wanted to apply for junior standing, but the prof. I talked to encouraged me to apply for soph. standing( despite the negative facets of my app), which is why I am worried about the weight that will be placed on my HS stats. So, I think I will apply this year and if I get rejected I will still apply next year (and I talked to the admissions dean about this and he said there was no problem with doing this).

bump bump?
