How is it that colleges can publish information that the ACT and SAT tests are both accepted and will be considered equally, and then act differently when questioned about it? I’m trying to apply to an accelerated BS/MD program at Penn State, and I called to ask about my lower than accepted SAT(accepted is 1450, and I got a 1400). I scored a 34 on the ACT, which is above their benchmark of 32, but they “highly recommended” I retake the SAT. Is this a common practice?

Please?—
