SAT and ACT scores discrepancy, SAT Subject tests

I am currently a junior in high school, and I have a major score difference when translating the ACT score to the SAT score equivalent.

SAT: 1870, 1700, 1840
ACT: 32, 34, 35

SAT IIs:
Math II: 800
Chemistry: 800
Spanish: 780
U.S. History: 800
Biology E, M: 790, 800
Physics: 800

I also heard that if you send the SAT II scores, you will also need to send the SAT score as well

Will colleges get suspicious about such a huge discrepancy?

Yes, btw you can only send a max of 6 subject tests on the common app

Only a small number of schools require you to send all scores if you send SAT IIs. Check the web sites to see what is necessary. If you don’t have to send the SAT I then don’t.

Thanks for clearing this up!

^however, that small number of schools probably encompasses the ones you’re applying to. With 6 nearly perfect subject test scores, and a 35 ACT, I’d have to imagine you’re going for the selective schools which require all scores. But don’t worry, they’ll understand the difference, and in reality, will probably ignore it. You’re good in the testing area

We have a similar situation. D had a 36 and 35 ACT and 2040 or 2070 SAT. Contrary to what you may have heard only a few schools require you to send these SAT scores with your subject test scores. I think it was Stanford abd Georgetown in my D’s case out of 20 highly selective colleges she applied to. this disparity is not suspicious, it just means you are a very strong student working to best of your abilities. If you can do better on SAT great, but it’s not absolutely necessary

Definitely send your ACT. In some situations, ACT + Writing can replace the requirement for SAT Subject tests.
