Are all SAT tests that are given after March 2016 RSAT’s? There is a school I want to go to and it says it wants the RSAT, but if I take the test in December am I taking the RSAT or SAT? I am confused
Assuming the “R” stands for “revised,” then yes. Note that subject tests remain the same as before.
If you were to take the SAT this December, it would be a “revised” one.
Ok thank you
was confused
On another thread, you say you completed a year of community college. The SAT is designed to be taken by HS students. Did you take the test while in HS?
@king256c if you completed some college coursework already (be it community college or other) you may need to check with your college of interest to see if you would, in fact, be classified as a transfer student rather than “first-time-in-college” or entering freshman. Oftentimes, this information will be on the college’s admissions website so is an easy check (probably has to do with number of college credits you’ve already earned).
If you are NOT a transfer, then yes, the rSAT is the revised test. The SAT completely changed to a new format/version as of March 2016 and so any administered tests beginning that date onward are the new format, rather than the old. Therefore, if you are planning to take the SAT in December you will automatically be taking the revised version.
Good luck to you!
