I know that the ecological tests is supposed to be easier than the molecular, but since I plan on applying to BS/MD programs such as Northwestern HPME, woud it be better for me to take molecular, or does it not really matter?

It depends on which area you think you would do better in. I talked to my biology teacher and she recommended that I do molecular. I think you should do practice tests in both areas and see which area you are stronger in.

For HPME, which is where I am planning to apply, I took molecular. I studied for two weeks (although, I also self-studied for the AP Bio test and got a 5) and got a 790. What really screwed me over was the ecology, because the first 60 questions are combined. The M section is easy, but the combined core is more challenging.
