SAT blue book help

Pg672 #14
Pg674#19

14 is C it is basic operations

sqrt (x+9)=x-3
square both sides
x+9 =x^2-6x+9
subtract 9 from both sides
x=x^2 - 6x (C)

Wow, lol, hopefully im getting all these dumb mistakes out before the real test, any idea on 19?

Ty for 14

Pg674#19
x^(-4/3)=k^(-2), y^(4/3)=n^2
square root of both sides of both equations
x^(-2/3)=k^-1, y^(2/3)=n —> y^(-2/3)=n^-1
(xy)^(-2/3)=x^(-2/3)y^(-2/3)=(k^-1)(n^-1)=1/(nk)

how did u get the square root of x^-4/3 to equal x^-2/3

nevermind stupid question
