SAT Calamity

My October SAT scores, which are higher than my March scores, have been delayed! I didn’t try real hard and couldn’t focus on the reading section. I dropped like 500 points in my reading score. The college board is now trying to say that they have to check it again, but it will take 6 weeks! I’m in a pickle because I want my higher scores to be sent with my ED 1. Will Nyu accept my scores a little bit late because of collegeboard’s policy?

Your dropped 500 points in reading on the new SAT (which you haven’t gotten the results back for) and that score is the higher score?

NYU is usually quite nice about waiting for scores. However, if your scores are going to be weeks late, that’s probably an entirely different matter.

So you got a 300CR assuming an 800 on the first test? Exaggerating?

I just called collegeboard today. They said that my reading score triggered their automatic review because there is a 250+ point discrepancy between my March SAT and my October SAT. They also said it will take 2-4 weeks to get my scores out. What I meant by better scores was that my writing subscore was a lot better. The lady on the phone said that my writing score “improved nicely.” However, she said it was against policy to tell me my score. Will NYU consider my October SAT scores because collegeboard’s policy delayed them? I’'m sure that I’m not the only one. I just want NYU to see my October scores because my writing score will bring my super score above 2000. Thanks for the help!

Call the office and explain the situation. They’re typically accommodating about waiting to receive scores, but that delay might be on the far side. See what they say.

How high? It’s going to look suspicious if your writing went way up (say 600->750) and your CR went to 400.

yeah, I guess there is nothing I can do
