SAT calculator policy - slightly broken/missing parts?

Hi! I’m preparing for the SAT and I’m looking for a calculator to buy. I found some very good offers on TI calcs: TI-89 Titanium for $29 and a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition for around $15… These calcs work and the prices are low due to them having some flaws. For example, the TI-84 is missing the batteries panel, the TI-89 has some cracks on the side. They do work, but I was wondering if the SAT people would give me trouble for using the calculators?

Additionally, since I’ve never seen a TI-89 and am not sure just how bad the cracks are, would anyone who haves one mind telling what they think of the damage on it? Here are some pictures from the seller:

I really want a TI-89 Titanium but I really can’t afford a new one. Thanks to whoever took the time to read this!

I’ve seen some pretty beat up calculators used during standardized testing. Everybody doesn’t have the money for new shiny calculators, but it really depends on the testing location. Some are lenient and some are very strict with their calculator checks. That being said, however, I think you should be fine. If the calculators work and you aren’t exploiting flaws for cheating (I don’t know how but people are creative) you should be good. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If you’re nervous about it just contact your testing location and see what they say.
