SAT Critical reading

I’ve learned many startgies to help me on the critical reading section. I’m still trying to figure out my reading pace for the passages. When I just skim the passage I have a vague idea of what its about. But when I just start with the lined questions first I might find some of them challenging and I’ll skip it. This creates a problem because I can’t get a hold of the passage until I read the lined question but if I skip them then im not reading enough of the passage to understand it. I usually find the general main idea type questions easier… HELP!

what do you mean by skimming the passage?
If you are doing great on main idea questions that actually means you have a good gauge on the passage.

For the specific line questions all you need to do is refer to the line and re-read part of it; for some hard qs, try to eliminate some categorically wrong answers.
