SAT Cutoff

I don’t mean what SAT score do I need to get in… But Stanford uses a GPA/SAT combination to filter out applicants in the beginning. With a 4.0 uw, what SAT will keep you in the pool? Also, I’m assuming they will substitute with the ACT as well?

I am almost 100% certain that Stanford does not “filter” out any applicants in the beginning. They look at your application as a whole, and will not keep you out just because you have one low score. On the other hand, they will not accept you for one high score. Instead of worrying about the statistics, I suggest you spend more time trying to figure out how you’ll portray yourself as a person. Stanford doesn’t want to see mindless drones who are just caught up on the statistics.

I know, I’m just asking because I know at a school like Stanford, every little bit helps. Also, someone said they filter out 60% of the applicants using said method.

There is no cutoff. But you should aim for at least 700 on each section, unless there is something really really special about you…

Bump, I’d like to know the same thing

Stanford has repeatedly said that there is no cutoff, but people never have entirely believed them and probably never will.

4.0 uw and 2400 is the cutoff.
