SAT ...Do i need extended time?

<p>Today i wrote my first SAT I.
Math was pretty easy (left 4-5 ommited cause of time limit). I think I scored around 700++
Writing was ok i believe I’m around 600
But on the CR i did terrible.</p>

<p>English is not my main language. I dont know if this has anything to do with it. I mean… Its not that I dont understand the passages, I just need more time to proccess the information correctly.</p>

<p>Even on the practice tests, I used to score 10/24 timed and 20/24 untimed…huge difference!
And it’s not the point only in the critical reading. Even on the Writing Section … I had trouble with the essay, wrote just 1 page.
It seems like in every section i needed more time. Even on math, that i consider them terribly easy, i need 3-4 extra minutes!</p>

<p>When i got home, i went to collegeboard and read the page about Extended time, then googled Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and it seems i have many signs of it. Firstly , i daydream allot , i always feel the need to keep my feet and hands busy when sitting down and I get easily bored.</p>

<p>I don’t seem to have any learning dissabilities…It didnt even occur to me I may even have one…</p>

<p>on Timed practice SAT tests I score about 700 Math, 500 CR and 650 Writing
but on non-timed practice tests I score around 770++ Math, 650 CR and 700-750 Writing…Maybe More!!!</p>

<p>What do you thing guys? Is it all in my mind?
…Also, can you get extended time even if DONT you have official papers proving some sort of disability?</p>

<p>It is probably too late to get extended time.</p>

<p>You have to start that in like 6th grade… Also, if everyone had extended time their scores would improve that much too.</p>

<p>You must provide papers for the disability! I am 100% sure that collegeboard would need a lot of proof to give you additional time, because if they didn’t then everyone would simply get a doctor they know to write that they have adhd.</p>

<p>I got diagnosed for adhd by a psychiatrist a couple weeks ago. I think adhd is too widely diagnosed, and although I show many of the symptoms of adhd, I don’t have too much trouble getting my work done. I got a prescription, but I only use it on rare occasions when I really need that extra boost.</p>
