My daughter got a 780V 750M on the new SAT, but she’s a little disappointed in her essay scores: 7, 5, 7. If she’s going to apply to top schools, is it worth it to retake the SAT just to improve the essay scores?
Let your daughter decide. Be careful not to pressure kids to be absolutely perfect. My daughter got a 680V and a 540M but 8/8/8 on the essay. She has always been an amazing writer, but not great in math or even an effective standardized test taker. She’s so proud and happy about the essay, and a lot of colleges won’t even notice that score. But she’s happy and that’s what matters.
