SAT essay structure

Is one well-developed paragraph sufficient to score a 6?

I find it hard to develop 2 body paragraphs sometimes…so I just go with one…

unless you really mean you want a 6 (I assume you mean two 6’s for a 12?), you’ll need 4 or 5 paragraphs.
they want a clear introduction paragraph, two or three supporting argument and example paragraphs, and a strong conclusion paragraph.

I agree with post #2. I got an 11/12 (one judge was generous – I totally ran out of room).

Cover both two pages completley. Tip: Write small. Includes quotes, real world examples, and a thesis which clearly shows if you are taking a side. If you do all of that, you will at least get an 8/9. Use strong vocab too.

One paragraph is associated with one support/example.

When you’re trying to make an argument, it’s usually a bad idea to have only one piece of evidence, no matter how well that piece of evidence is supported.

It’s also easier on the reader (which might make them more lenient) if you used the structure that post #2 described. The readers usually read your introduction carefully, skim over your examples, and read the conclusion carefully.
