What kind of SATs are a good ball park for college park oos? I know colleges look at other stuff etc, but what is good solid score for oos?

above the accepted average. I’d say around 1300-1350/1600 or 1900-2000/2400

alright thanks.

It depends on the applicant and the surrounding area that they come from. A lot of factors play a major role. One trend I find is that Maryland loves tri-state kids. Not sure if you are familiar with Long Island, NY. But the average applicant that is accepted from Roslyn High School in Roslyn Heights, NY and Jericho Senior High School in Jericho, NY has an index of about a 3.48-3.65 or higher with an SAT of 1250-1310(1850-2000). Other states like for instance Florida, like a top rated school in Palm Beach County, they are looking for a 4.0+W GPA and 1310-1400 SAT/ 1910-2100. Or an ACT score of 28-31.

It’s probably impossible to tell but what would you say the range is for the Rhode Island/Southern New England area?

There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of interest in the school up here which I was surprised at.

i dont think they like tri-state kids…i think it is just that many kids from those states apply…and as a result of that they seem accepting a lot…

Pats1237,

In order to give you a proper estimate. I need to know more about you and your background. Send me a PM with something you would send in a chance thread but without YOUR SAT scores so I could give you an estimate on SAT range.

From LI and would agree with the favoring Tri State apps. We had 15 from our school district, all 15 were accepted. Some with not so great GPAs and or SATs for what Maryland usually accepts.

Oh i am from oregon, i do have a 4.1-4.2 gpa, all A’s, and this year its gonna go up, but i am gonna take the SAT this saturday so i will see what i get. But about a 1400/1600 is safe for college park?

4.1~4.2+1400 is more than safe…

how about 3.5uw/25 act from Washinton State… from an extremely competative school… ranked 18th in the nation among all public schools

thanks, i would apply if i had a remote shot

Re-take the ACT it is really low, is your SAT better?

A-Card, my son has similar stats (3.9 unweighted) and 1410 SAT. From Oregon too. Maryland is his first choice. Good luck to both of you!

Oregonianmom and A-Card,

I think your son and you(A-Card) will definitely get in with those STATS. One reason is that Maryland is a very diverse campus and the majority of students are from the Northeast( NY,NJ,CT,PA, etc). Not many students from the Midwest apply, so I think you two will both definitely be admitted. Best of luck! Also, your stats are on par for Maryland.

nice, i just took the SAT this saturday, so lets see what i get on it.
I go to westview by the way
