SAT Help Required .. ASAP

I have registered to write the May 2nd SAT test . I need some help regarding on which books to buy. Can u please suggest books that would prepare me for the SAT from the beginning and would help me get a very good score (above 2100) . Please help me

a) Book {A} for SAT basic Strategies and Concept
b) Book {B} for Math
c) Book {C} for CW and Vocab
d) Book {D} for CR
e) Book {E} For practice

You may Also suggest books that may have the Concepts/prep for all sections Combined [a book with complete SAT prep for CW, CR ,Vocab and Math]

Help me out with this ... Please

Just do practice tests and review your answers. There are no really great "strategies." The official CB study guide is the way to go with Practice Tests. DO NOT USE NON-CB MATERIAL! Some stupid here people will tell you otherwise, but they don't know what they're talking about.

For the specific section, Grubers for math, Rocket Review for Writing, and Grammatix for CR is usually what people here say. I found maximum SAT to be better for writing, but not all books work for everyone. I recommend you go to your local bookstore and check out a couple of these books for yourself to see which ones you like the best. I've personally found all Barron's and PR books to be totally and utterly useless.

Oh, and you might want to check out Lots of invaluable info there.

Hope that helps, and happy studying :)

V Someone ban this fag

I got the help for SAT preparation from, an Indian online tutoring company. Results were as good as were expected. You too may visit [url=<a href="">;/a>] to have an idea about the services.

Buy the collegeboard blue helps ALOT

haha I guess they're even outsourcing SAT tutoring now :P

@desi_chick ^i second that, great book

Thanx a lot

I don't think the blue collegeboard book really helped at all. It had a math section but it is really vague and general info. I would recommend the Barrons for A). It is filled with strategies and tips that really do help. It has lessons on the math. Detailed with practice problems. It also has a good section on the grammar! It lists the grammer mistakes that appear on the SAT test.

^lol.. sorry buddy, but you have no idea what you're saying. Who uses the BB for strategies? Like I said, if you need a book for math, Gruber's is the way to go. Do yourself a favor and skip Barron's book.

is there any substitute for Grammatix as i am not able to find it on .

P.S. - i am an international student

grammatix is a pdf guide. you should be able to find it on SAT Prep, LSAT Strategies, GRE Help, GMAT Advice

alternatively, pretty much gives you the same information. grammatix is still a pretty good reference book to look through if you're time strapped, but it's not necessary.

Whatever book you get (personally think all are good) after each test, review EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. Annoying and tedious like hell but sooo worth it. I've answered plenty of questions correctly because of luck and it takes reviewing the whole test to find out why/how I got things wrong and right. I had a jump from 1840->2040 in one test after using this method for a few tests in the Barron's book.
