I am upcoming Junior, and this year I shall be taking the SAT for the 1st time, and I am wondering what study guide(s) I should buy? I was originally going to get the Princeton Review, but I’ve looked around some threads and noticed it really isn’t the greatest to get your score high. So, I just want to know what study guide I should get so I could have my score around 2200-2400. Oh, I’ve also heard the blue College Board book is good! Is that one worth while because I don’t want to waste money on study guides that aren’t helpful…

The blue book isn’t as much as study guide as it is a practice book that is really helpful because you’ll learn alot from doing the practice tests in there. Its the best indicator of how you might do because it is made by the company that makes the test itself. If you want a book with some interesting strategies (particularly in mathematics) I personally enjoy the Gruber’s Complete Guide to the SAT. Perhaps you could borrow it from the local library to see if you like it. You could always borrow that book for the strategies and buy the blue book if you want to do practice in it. Or you can just borrow a test prep book from the library to begin with as it doesn’t change significantly year after year.

Look into Xiggi’s study guide and silverturtle’s study guide
