SAT help

Guys I did the SAT in October and got 1900:
Math: 740
Writing:690
Reading:470
I am actually disappointed by my reading score, but it was somewhat expected because I just dont comprehend the passages.
I am planning on doing it again in december so I have about a month.
Do you guys have any efficient ways to increase by 100 or 200 points in just one month since I am aiming to get 2000-2100

It would seem you have some foundational reading deficiencies that will take some time to address to make any real dent in your overall proficiency, but I would ask if you think you could take a newspaper or magazine and find two articles each day whose titles interest you, and then try to find the main topic in the article, the problem or event at the center of the article, identify the subjects (or agents, or players), and the chronology of the unfolding of events.

You want to be able to hone in on the substance of the piece, and know exactly who has acted and to what end. It is critical to be able to identify words expressing opinion and conjecture, versus items of fact.

Do that for a week, becoming familiar with the way news articles are structured, and make sure to read something that you think may hold some interest for you, though not celebrity-based. Find yourself looking for why the article was titled as it is. Look for a phrase that you find interesting, where the language is a little more elevated than the way one might speak in everyday conversation, and write it out for yourself. Cultivate a sense of appreciation for the phrases that catch your eye, either because you like the sound of them, or how well they have stated the point of the sentence. Your are looking to recognize style in writing at this point.

Do this for a week, everyday. Then self-test on the SATs again. Then follow that same advice for reading the passages on the SAT as you self-test in the remaining weeks before your actual exam.

Some people will read the questions first, and then look for passages that will help answer the questions. This can lead you astray, though, if a meaning must be gleaned through context clues and reasoning, and is not spelled out directly in the text. But it may work for you where the passages are not long pieces of dense text.

Good luck.
