SAT: How to get a 2400?

The first and only time I took the SATs, I got a 2100. I did absolutely nothing to study, so I was unprepared. I’m taking them again in october (so i have time) and want to know the best/most effective way to raise my score. Tips from people who did score high are appreciated.

Official CB practice tests.

The most effective way to get your score up is to get a few hours of one on one private tutoring. The instructor can address your issues or problems. He will also be able to give you specific strategies/techniques relevant to your testing style. With that in hand you also need to make sure you have targeted practice sections as well as full length diagnostics that simulate test taking conditions to gauge your progress.

The classroom courses might not help as much since your score is higher than what most students tend to score and the classroom instruction may lag behind for you.

Good Luck!

It’s all about Blue Book practice tests. That’s how I got mine.

i just got the blue book. it is filled with questions. Get it, pour through it, sleep with it and succeed with it.

I hate to hijack this thread, but if one were to get the blue book like everyone has suggested and study intensively could a score in that range be possible after only a couple weeks? I got a 2100 cold also, but I want to take it in June.

well what did u get on each section? and essay

Take your practice tests under actual test conditions. Time all the sections and if you can find the time do at least one test exactly the same way you would do the real one, with timed breaks and everything.

Also, build up your confidence. Thats my biggest problem. I think that was the main reason I got a 2090 on the March SAT I left so many blank when I had an advantage to guess. DO NOT EVER second guess yourself unless you can irrefutably support your new choice!!! AND PLEASE, do not go over one problem 5-6 times after you’ve solved it (Bigesst blunder I always make on timed tests) You won’t have enough time for the hard ones. I think this is the best advice I can give you. I’m retaking it in June. So good luck to us both : )
