SAT II: 800, 800, and 680 (Math IIC). Should I tell the schools that I had a malaise?

<p>Hi ccers,</p>

<p>I took 3 SAT IIs in December (don’t have the time to retake), and I got 2 800s and 1 680 in Math IIC. Usually I always get 800 on the latter.</p>

<p>Should I tell the schools that I had a malaise when taking the Math IIC (because I had one, plus it was the last subject test), knowing that I always score 800 on it?</p>

<p>Or would that be looked upon negatively?</p>

<p>No, it’s best not to make extra comment on your application trying to explain a low SAT score (even as a outliner), unless you have official proof like a doctor’s note or a proctor’s note saying you collapsed at the desk, bleeding from all facial orifices…</p>

<p>with the new SAT the school will usually look at your 2 highest SAT II scores</p>

<p>Only one or two of my seven schools look at two SAT IIs; the rest require three. </p>

<p>But, no, you should not make an excuse unless, of course, you fainted in the middle of the test or something of that nature.</p>

<p>If you really did poorly because you were sick, you should get a much better score if you retake it.</p>

<p>This is quite childish and immature. You took the Math IIC and got a 680. Your practice tests don’t matter. Just retake it if you think you can do better.</p>
