SAT II and Channnces!

Recently took SAT II in october, didnt do so hot.

Math I: 720
US History: 650
Chemistry: 660

First off, do I bother sending them, or will it hurt my application more than it will help?

On to the rest of the reach application…

ACT:32
GPA:3.8 UW (Noncompetitive, town in Wisconsin of 15,000 people.)
Class Rank 30/312 (No weighted grades…)
AP: US History: 4 US Gov. and Pol: 4 (self studied)
Classes: All possible honors courses were taken. Senior year courses are AP English, AP Calculus, AP German, AP Physics, Organic Chemistry, Global issues (req) and Economics (req). School offers very few AP classes, the only ones I will not have taken are AP Art Studio and AP Spanish.

ECs
Stressed a lot of the things I do on my own time. Philosophy and government study are more of my thing than sports and all that jazz, so I wrote that kind of thing down. (University of Chicago is my friend here, Northwestern not so much…).

Bowling: 2 years, state competitor, first place in league, most improved player.
Fish and Game Volunteer: 4 years. Environmental stuff. Pheasant releases, fish habitat construction, that sort of thing.
W.A.F.L.E: “Winter Alpine Frolf League Eh?” Winter time frisbee golf league founded by myself and another frolf enthusiast.
German Club: 1 year, pretty ridiculous, you don’t need to tell me.

Recomendations are decent. Chemistry teacher emphasized that I have been unable to participate in many activities as a result of my increasing family comitments due to the recent death of my father. Hopefully this will help with the less than amazing ECs.

Prospective major is Biomedical Engineering, but I think I will apply to Weinberg instead of McCormick and transfer because my chances are probably better there.

How does it look?

“W.A.F.L.E: “Winter Alpine Frolf League Eh?” Winter time frisbee golf league founded by myself and another frolf enthusiast.”

dude, if we both end up going to NU, there will be the most FROLF on campus.

Just an fyi in terms of where you apply-its supposed to be easier to transfer out of mccormick. Depends on what major you put in weinberg–you might not need to be in a math class or a chem class, and as a weinberg student, you won’t be in the ea series, all classes that freshmen engineers have to take. However, i suppose it is possible to change schools before you get there…

isn’t it optional to take the sat IIs?
what if you didn’t take it? will that count A LOT against you?
i didn’t take the sat IIs.

Northwestern only requires SAT II’s if you’re applying for HPME, ISP, or you’re home-schooled. however, they do “recommend” that all applicants take 3 subject tests
