SAT II Japanese, with or without listening?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I would like to know whether it is better to take the SAT2 Japanese with or without listening. If you have taken the test, what choice did you make and why?</p>

<p>Is it harder with listening, and does it look better on an application (applying to the UC’s), or no real difference?</p>

<p>If you’re a native Japanese speaker fluent in Japanese, why not go for the listening test? If listening is a weakness, then I don’t know…if I took a language test in my native language, I would probably do a heck of a lot better on the listening than on the written.</p>

<p>Good god that test was tough. I was so naive to think I could get a good score (I got a 440, and I’m in Japanese III). Unless you’ve lived in Japan, are Japanese, or have taken very very thourough Japanese courses through the years, don’t take it. An 800 is like the 50th percentile, because of all the native speakers and people who’ve lived in Japan.</p>

<p>if you are japanese and u take the japanese SAT II, wont colleges look at that like you are slacking?</p>
