SAT II Literature

From what I’ve heard, this test does not require a lot of terminology but only a few(allegory, ode, etc.). It just tests how well you read and interpret literature.

I am very disheartened by my score from the Peterson’s SAT II Literature diagnostic test.
I received 15 raw score. 15/60. Yeah… I got 24 questions right and 36 questions wrong. That is equivalence of 450, according to the Official SAT Subject Test score rubric.

But this isn’t surprising. I always score mid-400~mid-500 in Critical Reading section of SAT I. I am sad I get a below-mediocre score, but mostly because I don’t improve in this language at all. I have been well known to suck at English, opposed to math. I scored 740 recently on the math section of SAT I.

I have been in this country 8 years, but I don’t want to demonstrate an excuse for my inability to understand reading. Especially, since the fact that I am Asian, there’s no excuse for weakness in any subject. Reading has been always a huge, difficult obstacle that I could never overcome. How do I reach to the zenith of 700~800 in English sections? I am in deep depression due to my low achievement.

I’m thinking of registering for the Lit SAT II test, and I do relatively well in my English class and have always been good at grammar and reading comp. (80 on the PSAT for CR). I looked over the practice questions on the College Board’s site, and the test itself doesn’t look too challenging.

Is it a simple test to prepare for in two months? I’d like to take it in June along with (gulp) Latin. I’ll save US History and Math II for the fall of 2010.

I’m taking this with Math II and US History.

I should be fine if I didn’t study for the PSAT and got a perfect score on CR, and didn’t study and got a 720 on the actual SAT right?

I’m in IB English and got an A first semester too.
