SAT II, Math

Do we have to take both Math 1C AND 2C, or is there a choice?
i need an urgent reply please

Most students would only want to take one of those. Take a practice test in each. If your Level 2 score is almost as good as your Level 1 score, then take that one. Note that the curve on the Level 2 test is much stronger than the Level 1 test. So you can get a lot more wrong and still get a higher score.

^ I never know what to recommend though – do colleges look at your score or do they also look at your percentile ranking? Because I’m not sure, but I think a 650 on level 2 may be as low as a 40% (but I am making that number up from hazy memory. It may not be that grim. Still, the students who choose level 2 tend to score well and it is not easy to have a high percentile ranking in that test.) So is it better to score high but with a lower percentile on level 2, or score a little lower but with a higher percentile ranking on level 1?

There is a choice.

Pc - my feeling is that the level 2 test looks more impressive to colleges so they are more forgiving as far as the percentile goes. That’s why I generally just suggest going with the level 2 test unless the score on the level 1 is substantially higher.
