While at a friend’s house, my friend mentioned that a 760 on Physics was bad because that was in the 80th%. When I told her that it was a good score and adcoms wouldn’t see the percentile ranking, she told me that adcoms would. Is she right? Because that would be baddddd.

Ah, okay, but short of looking it up, they don’t actually see the percentile attached to the score correct? 750+ is good enough for the top-tier institutions?

In my D’s school…I JUST found out that ANY scores you have sent to the school get placed on your transcript. They send them to colleges right along with your entire transcript. I had no IDEA! From what I can see online of my daughter’s transcript…they do already have her ACT/SAT and SAT II scores ALL posted. And … right next to the score…is a place for “national percentage”. Hers isn’t filled out yet, I don’t know if they just don’t have them yet, or it’s just a software option they don’t use. But…don’t assume they won’t see the percentage/percentile. However, it’s NOT a secret. They know what they’re looking at.
