SAT II question about chances at Elite Schools

This is purely a question about SAT II scores. Assuming I am coming from an elite prep school and have very good grades, ecs, and an SAT I score. How much does one or two mediocre SAT II scores count. I have an 800 in US History, and a 690 in Lit. I am retaking Lit, but assuming I don’t do better, how do these scores work for these schools.

Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Penn, Columbia, Wash U, Hopkins, Brown. Williams, Georgetown, Tufts

Also for Harvard and Georgetown how does a 670ish in Math I look as well (predicted).

All the other schools will only see the History and Lit scores (since I already sent them) unless I do very well on the retake and math I. But as of now what do these scores mean for my chances…are SAT IIs not that important?

The 690 could be raised a bit, as could the 670. However, the impact of the 670 depends on how well you’ve done in your math classes in school–if you’ve gotten straight As in math and have scored 4s and 5s on math APs, they’ll realize that the 670 is an anomaly. Also, I recommend taking more SAT IIs, if at all possible. I was always told that elite schools like the ones you’re applying to like to see at least three SAT IIs, even if they don’t require that many.
