I took the subject tests of Math II and US History this past May and received a 740 on US History and a 700 on Math II. I’m looking at schools such as Columbia, John Hopkins, and Duke. Should I retake either test in October? I’m a rising senior and I’ll be taking the SAT I next weekend so the October tests are essentially my last chance if I decide to apply early to any school.

each of those test scores are very good, the average score for US history is 620 and for math level II it’s about 650

^You shouldn’t be comparing yourself to the average. A 1500 is the average SAT score in the nation, but that doesn’t mean anything slightly above that is desirable.

Disregard the national average, like the above poster said, the avg. SAT in the nation is a 1500, and for Columbia you want at LEAST 650 points higher than that to have a chance (Duke and Hopkins as well).
Mind you, Duke, Columbia, and Hopkins all have very different requirement standards, and depending on your major you should consider retaking.
If you are going into math or science, DEFINITELY retake Math II and aim for a 760+.
If you are going into government/economics you should probably retake US, albeit it will be harder because I am assuming you just finished the class this year.

I’m most likely going into the medical field later on in life. And I have yet to choose between biology, neuroscience, or psychology as my major, but I think I will retake Math II to get at least a 750 in October.

I got a 710 on USH. I was horrified! I took the AP the day before and was 99% sure after looking over the answers in the post-test thread that I had gotten >780. To get a 710 it means I must have gotten ~20 wrong I believe, and I don’t think that’s possible.

Do any of you know where the rescore form is?
