SAT II subject tests optional at top tier LACs

S18 has taken two subject tests and scored at the 80% on each. He is applying to top tier (top 20) LACs where these scores are optional. Trying to decide if we should send these scores or not. For context, he has already sent his 35 SS composite on the ACT (the highest composite in one sitting of his two ACTs was 34).

What are the subjects and the scores?

One thing to realize: percentiles don’t matter; scores matter. It is important to understand that for several subjects, the percentiles are depressed because so few colleges request Subject Tests, that the ones that do are the ultra selective ones. As a result, it is the high achieving kids taking the tests. No AO is sitting on the floor cross-referencing scores with percentiles.

@skieurope . Thanks. US history 740; literature 720. He will be a humanities major, if that matters.

Anyone?

Those are good scores. The literature test in particular has a rep for being tough. I would submit them.

Agree with @Dancingmom518 . Submit them, they are very respectable scores. And schools like to see them even if they say ‘optional’

@Dancingmom518 and @wisteria100 Thank you the advice. I’ll spring for the extra $12 per app and send in!
