Sat Ii

If you do submit SAT II, I’ve heard Pitt will consider it. If I score in the 660-700 range, will they consider that bad or good. Like on a scale of 1-10 how good would it look?

You’re correct. Pitt does not require SATIIs but does consider them. It depends on the subject, but scoring between a 660-700 would typically be considered pretty good. I’d say on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 7 or 8.

That’s for Biology, where the curve is like dead hard.
Bah.
Plus I’m majoring in science, so idk how good that’s gonna look…

I would still sent a 660. It is still a good score, and I think they would appreciate the fact that you took the test and did well even though it isn’t required.

alright so no point retaking?

As long as you got above a 650, and unless you know you can do signficatly better, I wouldn’t worry about retaking it. If you’re looking to get into the Honors College though, you probably should.

yeah, i did horrible on my SAT IIs and when i sent my SAT’s, it had to send those too, and i still got in fine

thanks good to know fisch…because my US history SAT II wasn’t so great.

neither was mine… i did horrrrrrrible on that one… but i still was fine

Take the ACT, then you don’t have to send the SAT scores which will have the SATII’s tagged along with it. Many students do much better on the ACT, anyway, since it’s scored differently than the SAT.

I’m interested in Pitt’s 2+4 year pharmacy program, I heard it’s competitive. should I take SAT II Chemistry to somehow prove I’m good at it so I’ll have a better chance? I’ve taken both SAT math. math 1–660, math 2- 650. are the scores good enough for pitt? and I’d like to know what’s the range for the SAT score? thx a lot

Here’s Pitt’s SAT score range for 2005 (25/75 percentile):
Verbal:560 – 660
Math: 570 – 670
Combined: 1130 – 1330

Your SATII scores are good, I would take the chemistry ones if you think you can get at least a 650.
