SAT IIs- Do they really improve your chance?

I don’t know if submitting (high) SAT II scores for those schools that do not require them (just recommend or consider if submitted) really improve your chance of being admitted?

I’ve been researching this on the web and trying to find out the same. I think it greatly depends on the school and if you look at the language used by some of the adcoms you can get a rough idea. Some will say it is weighed equally along with the ACT/SAT in which case I think it can overcome lesser scores. I’ll post any sites that may give additional information.

im going into highschool and am going to take my first sat II but for biology and what books should i use i heard kaplans is the best and barrons is the worst cause it has horrible practice tests and people often fail with it and what does a sat II for me

THANK YOU

your not even staphisticated enough to talk to us 19382

Ummm, well it’s really not going to be choice of whether or not to submit the SAT II’s to certain schools b/c if you’re sending your SAT’s to said school then they get everything that is attached including your SAT II’s scores so give up on that aspect. As to schools which recommend them, they are basically saying, take them or else you’re going to start at a lower bar whereas if it’s considered it really isn’t that important. However, once a school sees that you took SAT II’s they will know that on your list of colleges there will be top notch colleges and thus some will assume their position as a safety to you and thus might reject you on this assumption alone, so make sure you’re showing interest or else it could be very costly.

how do i get in a IVY league college like harvard PLEASE TELL ME

well there really is no equation, every situation is different from the other, though curing cancer would be a start.

i wana be the smartest i can be!!!

Good SATIIs will help a little and bad one will hurt a little, but this is a holistic process, like grading a writing assignment. anyway

reminded me of …
I want to be the very best
Like no one ever was
To get them is my real test
To prove them is my cause (oooh)
I will travel across the land
At University
Be taught by those that understand
The abstract complexity

Math Major!
That’s what will be.
I know it’s my destiny!
Math Major!
My knowledge thirsts
In this flat world of E-commerce!
Math major!
A head so true
Algorithms will pull us through
You teach me and I’ll teach you
Math Major!
(Gotta prove 'em) Gotta prove 'em Gotta prove 'em all!

Every challenge along the way
With courage I will face
I will battle P-sets everyday
To claim my rightful place!
Prove 1, the time is right!
Use lemmas in between
Building on em’ I’ll see the sight!
I know this and I’m only 18!

Yeah for math majors!!! And yes, SAT II’s compensate a little bit, at least with my personal experience since they were 310 more points than my SAT I, though that’s obviously not everything.

what is the highesy possible score on the SAT!

2400 …
