SAT January 2012 - Writing

Yeah we had differing approaches but similar ideas. I said that improvments can cause problems(I apologize for misinterpreting your thesis), but I did also talk about how drawbacks/setbacks often led to progress and were a necessary ingredient in change. And although the majority of people at my testing center interpreted it more like I did and less like you did, there were DEFINITELY people who shared your approach at my testing center. You probably got 10-12 last year so with your capacity for writing I think your fine. If your worried about it you should consult your friends maybe or someone more knowledgeable than I.

If I get a 7-8 on the essay, can I still get a 700? I know I did fine on the MC but the essay…I’d rather not talk about.

@Jaunita

but do you think my idea strays from the assigned topic a little?

Does anyone remember exactly what the “eminent… imminent” question was? Also what the last question in the 14 question section? Like what was the question exactly? I think those are the only 2 I may have missed…

It might stray a little. The people who said you didn’t answer the prompt however are wrong, your approach was completely valid. I don’t think it will affect your score, but then again I am not an oracle. Before you act hastily and cancel your score(Im assuming thats what your worked up over), I would seriously consult more people on this message board and people you know in real life. I dont believe you should cancel but Im not the final arbiter

-3 MC, 12 on essay… score prediction?

GUYS important question? was experimetal writing 6 or 7 for peopel that had two writings>

the one about asian americans was experimental. the dinosaur one was not.

@onmyway I’ve been itching to know that too.

wait what about the section with the passage about the girl whose dad liked chopping firewood or something?

@runner I don’t even remember doing an asian american one. I totally remember doing the dino one tho. I also had 2 35 question writing mc;s. LOL maybe I skipped an entire passage of the experimental? Pfft… at least it was experimental… But really, need details about the asians one.

I think it was section 6. It was ridiculously hard and gad weird questions…

I had an experimental writing on skyscraper farms

EDIT: I had sections 6 to 7 back to back and section 6 was my experimental

I only had one writing section so I’m sure that that one was not experimental. The section I had talked about dinosaur fossils and had the controversial “speed of sound waves” question.

Section 7 experimental here, on prejudice against Asian Americans.

SPEED OF SOUND CONSENSUS PLEASE!!!

redundant or no error?

Also, what about the question with answer choices:
a) none were
b) none was

@ARobins: Don’t think you’ll be getting a consensus on the speed of sound one.

I vote not redundant as well(:

I vote not redundant but taking a vote does nothing.

I doubted it; I was hoping to hear more banter on the question to convince myself I was right in putting D so that I can sleep XD
