SAT January 2012 - Writing

^^^ you ended up putting no error right?

Yeah it was supposed to “eminent” instead of “imminent”

It was no error for the sound and air and water or something right?

Essay prompt about improvement was “can improvements and changes bring significant drawbacks or problems?”

I talked about brave new world by huxley and galileo (how he got exiled for his scientific discoveries and religious people were angry), I went off-topic slightly, but my essay was pretty long, so I’m hoping for at least an 8.

@funny
thats what were debating its either no error or the paralellism is messed up.

Personally I got the trustworthy essay and talked about Macbeth (King Duncan trusting him) and the British (telling india to trust them to make internal improvements)

no, the prompt was … does improvement/change result from drawbacks…

What did you guys get for # 11 on the writing. Was it a semi-colon or comma?

^^^ i believe it was semicolon and ur talking about the one with ;as a result, it cannot… scientists or something

^^You’re right Swedish. I talked about how FDR’s reforms brought the economy back on track but that it caused a mountain of debt and put some small businesses out of operation. My second paragraph talked about how the mountain of debt caused the US to become entangled in WWI. I’m hoping for a 10.

The prompt about improvement, I wrote about construction having problems amogst the citizens,… I think I failed

what about the one with the nobel prize?

I got it: blah blah, winning the prize or something?

I thought the other sentences created comma splices but I was not sure.

wait *** i think i read the prompt wrong…

i talked about how the drawkbacks of certain situations brought forth progress and improvement…

@jman010295, I wasn’t talking about that one, but that one u mentioned it correct. I meant # 11 the last big underlining talking about madagascar and animals? Was it a semi-colon or comma?

Yup I got two A’s for the last two section.
Weren’t they like #3 and #9?

I just got 4 no error. (Including the sound one). I do not think there is pronoun problem in that sentence.

Yes; WHAT ABOUT 11?

@Smart i think it was semicolon, and it was the only choice with the word “which”. I think it was also the longest answer choice.

@jman you’re forgetting that the point of the identify errors is to identify amd error, so just because it shouldnt refer to “the sound of speed”, doesn’t mean it isn’t refering to it.

There was a writing question in section 10 that talked about animals. There was no semicolon.

What was the last question of section 10?

Rather you were wrong and I was wrong. I read your sentence wrong. The question was whether progress and improvement has drawbacks or something.
